Rover Setup#

Coordinate System#

Choose a coordinate system based on ED50 (such as ED50 / UTM zone 32N), Monte Mario (such as Monte Mario / Italy zone 1), or RDN2008 (such as RDN2008 / UTM zone 33N) datums.

Vertical Datum#

Choose the Italy ITG2009 height vertical datum.

The ITG2009 geoid is used to perform the transformation.

Base Setup#

Your base or NTRIP service should be in ETRS89. The following methods are used to perform the datum conversion: Italy_ED50 grid, Roma40 grid.

  • The RD2008 datum is a national realization of ETRS89.
  • The datum conversion from ETRS89 to ED50 uses Italy_ED50 grid
  • The datum conversion from ETRS89 to Monte Mario uses Roma40 grid

When setting up a base station on a benchmark, enter ETRS89 geographic coordinates (lat/long) and ellipsoidal height in the ReachView 3 Settings / Base mode.
